Our philosophy
At Daisy Learning Centre we are providing a safe, stimulating, caring and natural environment to nurture each child’s sense of belonging, being and becoming
We believe that each child is a unique individual who possess rights and responsibilities. We believe all children have the ability to build up their own sense of agency, independence and confidence throughout educators and children’s positive interaction, daily experiences and routines.
We respect the diversity of our families and communities, and their aspiration for children. We promote local community knowledge including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures to our children and families, to build a learning community in our service.
We recognise play is integral to fulfil children’s learning potential. Our inclusive programs are driven by each child’s background, knowledge, strengths, abilities, interests, needs and learning pace, and facilitated by families’ contribution and educators’ intentional teaching.
We believe it is very important to develop working partnerships with families in order to support children to achieve their learning outcomes. We respect families’ knowledge and skills, support them in their primary role as caregivers and provide effective continuity of education and care between home, our centre and the community.
We aim to provide fresh, healthy and nutritious meals and snacks that meet the dietary requirements and hygiene standards. Our Manu reflects our families’ diverse cultural backgrounds.
We will work together with children and families to promote sustainable practices at our service and also home.
Our qualified and experienced educators are working as a team to provide high quality early childhood education and care in accordance with the EYLF 2010, and also they are dedicated to developing their professionalisms through ongoing professional training and reflective practices.
